SAFEHAVEN MARINE. Builders of the Interceptor & Wildcat range of offshore craft
'HIGH VELOCITY'
is launched and lives
up to her name!
High Velocity, the first ‘motor yacht’ version of the Wildcat catamaran has now been launched. Few words are needed to describe how stunningly good looking she has turned out. The moulded GRP dive platforms increase her length to 39ft and make her hulls visually longer enhancing her sleek lines and provide excellent access for diving and water sports. Her flybridge adds another element to her desirability and provides a storage position for a 2.6m inflatable and outboard, launched and recovered by an aluminium electric crane situated on the flybridge. Her mast collapses forward reducing air draft. Her aft cockpit remains vast with a flush deck allowing the fitting of two fighting chairs with removable seating and table.

Performance wise SHE CERTAINLY LIVED UP TO HER NAME, we have optimised the trim of the Wildcat to provide class leading performance. A 30.7 kts maximum speed from twin Yanmar 6LYA 440hp engines on a heavily built 10,200 kg displacement speaks for itself. Her seakeepingis of course simply fabulous and needs little mention, being totally proven by her two sister ships in service (see previous reports or speak to their owners).
Her interior is equally sensational
featuring an internal layout that capitalises on her full beam with combined
seating for up to 11 people featuring: A dinette with table and a fully
equipped, corian surfaced galley to port. A very comfortable L shaped, semi
circular sette to st/bd. A central twin seat helm position and fold away
navigators seat to st/bd. All crafted in teak, beautifully finished and lined to
a very high standard. A particularly luxurious feature is an integrated
entertainment console behind the helm seat featuring a DVD player, CD and LCD
Plasma screen. The module also has a drinks cabinet incorporated. Sleeping
accommodation features twin bunk berths in the st/bd hull, a large double berth
in the f/wd cabin above the bridge deck, with an en suite toilet and shower
fitted out in formica and corian.
Her specification is equally impressive
with both bow and stern thrusters, Ebspachier diesel fired central heating,
engine operated hot air cabin heater and demister. Her aft cockpit features fold
out (hidden) sink, a shower and deck wash, twin transom doors and a professional
dive ladder.
On the move she is very quiet, twin
halyard water traps / silencers and exhaust outlets situated in the tunnel keep
noise to a minimum.
Her electronic package is very comprehensive with top of the range equipment featuring, Simrad radar / plotter 10” TFT colour screen, Raymarine 12” TFT screen plotter, 2x GPS, Simrad autopilot, Raymarine colour fishfinder, Nassa speed, depth and wind instruments, VHF. An AC system with battery charger, Shore power and a 1200w inverter.
