Latest Interceptor 42 launch.
This is our latest launch this May 2003 , the highest spec Interceptor 42 we have built to date. She is a 'Motor Cruiser' version fitted with twin 420hp 3126 Caterpillars. A deep maroon hull with a yellow stripe and new aft cabin window design distinguishes her. A number of modifications and upgrades were undertaken to make her more luxurious, these were, interior wise: Higher quality white side lining lightening the overall interior ambience, a GRP molding in high gloss black for the helm console and a circular settee seating module. Black Corrian work top in the galley, toilet and fore cabin. Teak and holey cabin sole and the extensive use of both large and small sliding drawers throughout the galley and cabin furniture. Engineering wise, triple helm positions, main, flybridge and a docking station to st/bd in the aft cockpit were provided. A bow thruster and a stern thruster were fitted making her very easy to maneuver in tight quarters. A dive platform and a special transom door with a stainless steel frame and polycarbonate panel enhances the transom. In the aft cockpit a number of new GRP mouldings were specially developed, a circular half round seat and a special moulding that features a bait prep area with sink and hot and cold water as well as a stainless steel barbeque set that can be fitted to the moulding. A flush hatch fish box is fitted in the aft deck with a drain overboard replaces the standard fish box sliding around the deck! A custom made large flush deck engine hatch with special large and deep drain channels was built which featured electric hatch lifters, opening the heavy hatch at the flick of a switch!
During sea trails her performance was very impressive, she achieved 28kts with the engines over revving 100rpm to 2900, with another inch of pitch on the props she should achieve a bit more. At 2400rpm she cruised at 24kts. This makes her our fastest vessel to date.
For 2003 we changed the lower side windows, which makes her more aggressive, and hopefully you will agree, the best looking vessel of her type around!
